gTLD Application Fees
ICANN gTLD Application & Registry Fees
The following fees will be required by ICANN for the application and ongoing registration of new gTLDs.
Currently, these ICANN fees are scheduled as follows (all fees are subject to change with ICANN policy updates):
Application Fees
Primary ICANN application fees and costs - These fees will be mandatory for all TLD applicants:
$100
$185,000
- Registration to ICANN's TLD Application System
- TLD Application Fee
- Note: These fees were determined by ICANN to cover the cost of the new
gTLD initiative, as well as costs associated with the application process. ICANN may realize a surplus in revenue
and refund a portion of these fees back to the applicants.
Additional ICANN application fees and costs - These fees will be levied upon applications that
require a deeper discovery effort by ICANN. TLD Managers will work closely with ICANN and our clients to
minimize the risk of these additional costs:
$50,000
- Registry Services Review Fee
- Note: This additional fee will only be required in such instances where the
applicant chooses to use a Registry Operator unknown to ICANN. TLD Managers can minimize the risk of this additional cost
by providing Registry Operator services to our clients.
$5,000 per instance
$40,000 - $130,000
- Dispute Resolution Fees
- Dispute Resolution Adjudication Fee
- Note: Dispute Resolution fees will only be applied when another party disputes
a gTLD application. Such disputes must have merit and incur costs of their own to the disputing party. TLD Managers will
work with our clients to forecast the likelihood of such disputes based upon the desired gTLD.
Annual Registry Fees
Annual ICANN Registry Fees - These fees will be incurred by new gTLD owners, and are payable to ICANN annually.
- Annual Registry Fees: Greater of $75,000 or 5% of Registry Transactions (domain sales)
